How do I reach Dr. Pizzino in an emergency?
If you are having a life-threatening medical emergency, you should call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room. If you are not sure if your symptoms warrant this, or if you need to reach Dr. Pizzino outside of usual office hours, call her mobile phone at (919) 452-2012. If you do not reach her or receive a call back within 15 minutes, it may be because the mobile phone is out of range. She will endeavor to call you as soon as possible once cell phone function has resumed.
Will Dr. Pizzino be my doctor in the hospital?
Dr. Pizzino has made arrangements to have hospitalist physicians (doctors who specialize in the type of care needed while a patient is hospitalized) admit you to the hospitals covered by your healthplan. Dr. Pizzino will consult with your in-hospital attending physicians to help manage your care.
Will Dr. Pizzino work with my other healthcare providers?
Dr. Pizzino encourages the utilization of certain Complementary and Alternative (CAM) healthcare techniques, such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy, etc. She believes these are best utilized as part of the approach to treating you as a whole person.
